Germany – The Alliance for Creativity and Entertainment (ACE) today announced that the popular German service Ololo has gone offline following a cease-and-desist communication executed against the operator in September.
“We are pleased with the results we’ve achieved against the operators of Ololo,” said Karyn Temple, Senior Executive Vice President and Global General Counsel for the MPA. “ACE is dedicated to reducing piracy and will continue to use every means necessary to keep creative content protected.”
Ololo received 2 million visits per month and consisted of a database of links scraped from over 40 cyberlockers. Access to this database was then sold to streaming site operators, for use on their websites. The database contained over 164,000 movies and 242,000 TV shows.
