LOS ANGELES, CA, Feb. 24, 2022– The Alliance for Creativity and Entertainment, the leading global coalition dedicated to reducing digital piracy and protecting the creative ecosystem, has issued the following statement regarding its preliminary injunction win against the operator of Quality Restreams.
The statement was made by Karen Thorland, Senior Vice President & Chief of Global Content Protection, Legal, at the Motion Picture Association:
“Piracy operations exploit and undermine the legitimate streaming market that consumers count on to reliably and safely deliver programming. We are pleased that the US District Court for the Central District of California has granted a preliminary injunction in our case against the operator of Quality Restreams. Civil actions are one of the many ways ACE protects the legal ecosystem for creative content around the world.”
