ACE STATEMENT ON COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT LAWSUIT AGAINST DRAGON BOX

January 10, 2018 – Members of the Alliance for Creativity and Entertainment (ACE) filed a lawsuit today against Dragon Box, a curated computer hardware device that the defendants urge their customers to use as a tool for the mass infringement of copyrighted motion pictures and television shows. The following is a statement by Zoe Thorogood, ACE spokesperson:

“Devices like Dragon Box are designed and marketed to provide illegal access to infringing streams of movies and TV shows, misleading users about the source of the content and denying appropriate compensation to content creators. ACE members initiated this legal action against Dragon Box as part of an ongoing global engagement to protect the legal marketplace for creative content, reduce online piracy and the growth of illegal and unsafe piracy devices and apps, and support a creative economy that supports millions of workers.”
